2026 Wavy Award Songwriting Winners, ‘Outer Shapes’ Release New EP INNERSTATE

Written By Rebecca Sansom

How do they keep smashing EP’s to the moon? We know! They are exceptionally Wavy. And by that we mean they are absolutely top 10% of all artists we hear come through our orbit. They consistently create beautiful hand-drawn content. Seriously, check out the animations on their IG @outershapes.

The storytelling is poignant and raw, and literally makes us tear up every time we engage with their posts. You can tell they take the time the art deserves to feel meaningful'; they don’t rush, even though they are damn near prolific-level at song output! How do they do it?

We just listened to their latest EP INNERSTATE which came out everywhere yesterday, and it is so satisfying. If you aren’t already an Outer Shapes fan, you can start with giving this a listen and then work your backwards, no pun intended (their last EP is entitled Forward Backward (that one came out this past Spring). So, yeah, that’s 2 Wavy Worthy EP’s already in 2026!

You can catch them live on Oct 9-11th at O+ in Kingston, NY or Oct 24-25 at Fall Fest in Newington, CT - get tickets at their website now.
