Artist Spotlight: ABBIANA Stuns with New Single ‘WRAITH’

Written by:Karissa Kelly for Wavy Music News

Always eager to provide our readers with instant-add-to-playlist material, this time, the Wavys present to you an absolute must-watch R&B artist, ABBIANA. With just a handful of singles and one full-length album to date, ABBIANA’s discography already demonstrates a clear artistic direction, with the visual sensuality of undying self-loyalty and sonic feasts that blend an array of styles and textures that simultaneously reach into the past and grant us a glimpse into music’s future. No doubt, the lyrical and instrumental experimentation with each track’s evident collaboration of passion and finesse is enough proof-of-concept that ABBIANA will go far.

Gracing us with a new single, WRAITH is sleek. Juxtaposing itself with the brightness of the EXISTENTIAL DREAD album cover, this time she stuns from the shadows, but still sporting that signature cherry-red. The art direction is bold and its striking, oozing personality but keeping just enough mystery to entice listeners. In collaboration with composer Devin A. Smith and produced by D.S.16, WRAITH sonically emulates this mystery, creating playful but honest reflections on the tribulations of love that comes with strings attached, and as the title suggests, the ghostly shadow of yourself left behind from overthinking and overextension.

Outside of her currently published music, ABBIANA has taken on yet another ambitious endeavor: making and posting a new song every day for thirty days. While this may seem to be a plea to the algorithm gods to most, I see that with just a few days under her belt thus far, this challenge will undoubtedly give her the creative structure and flexibility it takes to sharpen her vision and voice. I have high hopes for what comes next for ABBIANA, and if you see what I see, you shouldn’t look away either.
