WAVY MUSIC NEWS:

Brooklyn's own Yoshi the Talent, not to mention Wavy Award nominee and Performer! just got more flowers, and Spotify's algorithm delivered them personally, very Wavy, baby!!

The soulful R&B/Reggae Fusion singer-songwriter is celebrating a major streaming milestone: her latest release "Memories" has officially landed on Spotify's Release Radar playlist which happens to be an extremely coveted algorithmic placement that puts new music directly in front of listeners who are most likely to fall in love with it.

For one of our Wavy Favy’s we are not in the least surprised.

"Landing a spot on Spotify's Release Radar Playlist is a career-defining milestone that propels my music to new heights," she shared, and anyone who's been watching her grind knows she's earned every stream.

A first-generation American of Barbadian heritage, Yoshi has been building her sonic world since she was eight years old, from Amateur Night stages at the Apollo to headlining RockWell Music Hall, to performing at The Wavy Awards 2024. Her voice, a full-range instrument that moves between R&B, soul, pop, and Afrobeat, has always been undeniable. “Memories" gives that voice a new home and now, a wider room to fill.

Release Radar placements are a huge yes from the universe that it’s a bop. They're earned through authentic listener engagement, and that's exactly the kind of recognition The Wavys was built to spotlight. Yoshi the Talent is the real wavy thing, and the algorithm confirms it!
